Whats on Your Workdesk #233

Another week already, I was going to make sure I posted in-between WOYWWs but had a really busy weekend with a houseful of people and dogs, and doing it all again this weekend as well!

Bit of a weird picture of my desk today:




looks a bit strange, but the book has all my new backgrounds in it, and the Cuttlebug is weighing them all down to flatten  them, they look like this


Its the "caught in crystal" technique, they look at bit of a mess, but when trimmed down make gorgeous background for my cards. Here is one of the finished cards


The image is actually a stencil that I have used versamark and white embossing powder through.

Short post this week, hope you like it. Off to look at everyone else's desks over on Julias blog.

    Thanks for the visit, Donna! I've heard of the 'Caught in Crystal' technique from a lady called Susie Jefferson who did a class or 2 in altered books that I went to once in London. I don't know how you do this technique, but it looks fab! Thanks for sharing! Julie Ann xx #29

    Hi Donna..new Follower.I LOVE those backgrounds! Despite what you might be seeing on my blog at the moment, I love bright colours!!Woukld you mind telling us next week how you made them?I'd rather make my own backgrounds than buy card. Sometimes card is nice, but when you want that "special look", you can't beat having a puddle around with paint and ink etc.

    Hello Donna, I've never heard of this technique so will have to you tube it, It's FANTASTIC OMG , I loooove it, I have slate blocks I use for wieght, cute with the cuttle bug, look how many uses it has LOL, have a wonderful day, thanks for sharing, happy WOYWW Dianne #60..

    Hi Donna, I have never tried the caught in crystal technique, your results are stunning so I might have to look it up and have a go, though I seem to remember it might involve smelly perfumed products which will make me sneeze or get migraine!
    Your card is gorgeous! I am late getting round due to sick mouse yesterday, luckily the new one arrived in lightning quick time and I am using it now!
